The Longwood team is honored to have periodontist Dr. Po Lee invited by the Straumann Group to offer a lecture on regenerative strategies with Enamel Matrix Derivatives (EMD) alongside esteemed periodontist Dr. Kevin Chuang and Dr. Gary Chang. EMD is made up of proteins called enamel matrix proteins that help to regenerate tissues around the teeth and helps to treat the effects of periodontal disease of various degrees. It is often used in conjunction with periodontal surgery.
With the use of dental microscope and application of EMD, periodontal regenerative treatments can be minimally invasive, which we routinely apply at Longwood to reduce patients’ discomfort.
